Blake Kiger was born in Asheville, North Carolina into a family that is passionate about education. His grandfather was a principle, coach, and mentor at a high school in Davidson County, North Carolina. His grandmother also worked at the school and instilled a high value on education at all levels to her children and grandchildren. This passion for their community has been passed down to Blake who has been involved in his community at many levels throughout the years.

Blake graduated from the University of Georgia and decided to live and work back home in North Carolina. He has made his home in Cabarrus County and dedicated much of his time to serving his community. He has previously served Cabarrus County Government as a member of the Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks Commission, the Harrisburg Parks and Recreation Master Plan Committee, as Director of the Harrisburg Basketball League, as a member of the Hickory Ridge High School Athletic Booster Club, and as Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board of Education. He has also been an active member of his church, serving as a deacon in the past, and his neighborhood, serving on the HOA Board.

Professionally, Blake is a North Carolina licensed general contractor and principal of Simon-Meyer Charlotte, LLC, a construction consulting firm. He is married to his wife Nancy, a physical therapist with Cabarrus County Schools and has two children, Reagan and Davis. Reagan is currently attending the University of South Carolina where she is a third-year pharmacy student, and Davis is attending High Point University where he is on the golf team and student-athletic advisory committee.
